The magic of terroir—the environmental conditions, especially soil and climate, in which hops are grown and give a hop their unique flavor and aroma—continues to enthrall us at Tree House.
To illustrate the difference between region and growing conditions, we have begun the Many Ways series, which seeks to brew single-hop beers with hops sourced from specific growing regions and farms.
Part Three contains Citra grown exclusively by our friends at Jackson Hop Farm in Wilder, Idaho. It expresses Citra in a singular fashion with familiar notes of bright citrus and stone fruit but with a unique orange flesh note that is absolutely delicious. This expression is sublime paired with Tree House’s unique house character.

Excellent head production, retention, and lacing. Gorgeous beer within the sub-style.
Bright and hop-forward aroma. A bit more balanced between citrus and tropical than typical of Citra, with notes of papaya, mango, orange, lemon, vanilla, and grapefruit. Very mild dankness.
Absolutely sublime on the palate. Very little herbal dankness, but some bright kitchen herbs are present to balance the citrus and tropical melange. Notes of orange creamsicle, mango, papaya, lemon, tangerine, white bread.
This is among the tastiest pure Citra brews I have ever had, period. It's phenomenal.

Tree House Brewing Compa... IPA-Imperial / Double
Love the idea of focusing on regional grow spots for the specific hop: Citra. Wilder, ID. Sweet and earthy citrus slams the nose. Fresh and smooth feel with deep notes of sweet and tangy citrus fruits. Slight earth spice and another round of citral.
