Orange Thing is an American Double IPA brewed with a promising new hop variety called Alora. Pouring a pretty milky orange color into your glass, it carries flavors and aromas of orange cream, mixed citrus, and citrus gummies with a fluffy and appealing texture. It is a testament to our dedication to continuously refining our craft while exploring the unexplored in hop breeding and agricultural development. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Cloudy orange with white head. Head is thick and frothy leaving nice lacing. Nose is plan and simple, citrus. Taste is like the description on can says, orange cream. Soft mouthfeel, decent bitterness.

Pours Avery hazy orange color with a creamy white head that provides ropes of lacing down the glass as you enjoy the beer. Beautiful hazy.

The nose features apricot, peach, ripe orange, and sweet melon aromas, and that’s precisely where the taste lands, with the apricot and peach flavors most delicious.

The mouthfeel is soft and creamy, on point for the beer. Another winner from TH.

Notes via stream of consciousness: This is brewed with Alora hops. They've only been available since 2023 and I haven't been able to get my hands on them or taste a beer brewed with them so I'm pretty excited. It's poured a murky golden tan body beneath a two finger thick head of white foam. I'd say it's just about 2" tall and it seems to be holding well; hopefully the lacing will be just as good. I'm getting a little bit of a piney resin in the nose with a lot of candy-like fruitiness that includes peach, orange, melon, and a hint of sweet berry. On to the taste... it's certainly fuller than the aroma but that's laid out a pretty good blueprint for it. There's lots of peach, and that seems to be the dominant note. The melon is still there but I can't say exactly what melon it might be like. It's fairly floral. There's some apricot, especially in the finish. It's sweet but resinous and a little citrus-pithy as well. Am I missing anything? It's not nearly as orange-like as I thought it would be based on the aroma. I'm getting some passionfruit, and a little bit of a lemon-lime kind of thing. I'm assuming that this is 100% Alora, and if so it appears to me that it's a very unique hop. There's a lot going on with it but it's not brash or bombastic, and honestly, kind of refined in its fruitiness (not its resins). The malt is fairly basic hazy IPA stuff and I'm getting some oats and wheat. The alcohol is present, and helps to dry it in the finish along with the resins and a light touch of earthiness. It's more of a dusty kind of earthiness than a damp soil kind of thing. The head has miraculously held a solid surface covering given that it doesn't really seem that carbonated, but beyond the initial lacing from the massive head it hasn't left too much behind. Still, I think it scores a 4.25 out of 5. In the mouth it's medium bodied and smooth with a fine-bubbled, moderate carbonation and lots of extra proteins from the oats and wheat. I'm a definite fan of this one. It's not a knock-you-across-the-head kind of hoppiness but it's certainly there, and I think to a certain extent that lends it a little bit more drinkability. What I mean by that is that with some of the heavier hitters I'll take fuller pauses between sips because I'm just saturated with hops but this is a little bit smoother and easier to ignore, if that's an acceptable way to say it. It gets my attention every time I take a sip but then it fades away steadily. Great beer.

Pleasant but muted aroma, hinting at, but not bursting with, citrus notes.

On the palate, this isn't the biggest, juiciest, craziest IPA, but the spot-on citrus flavor (without the use of actual fruit) is remarkable. Notes of orange, lemon, guava, and lime, along with a touch of cream and modest sweetness.
