Moutere Magic is a Double IPA featuring hops grown in Upper Moutere, New Zealand. Using literal buckets of Riwaka, Nelson, and Motueka sun-kissed by this magical place, Moutere Magic encapsulates what is possible by brewing with these legendary hops.
Pouring an attractive yellow color into your glass, it carries exceptionally juicy notes of clementine, passion fruit, lime, and peach with a distinctively tropical resin finish.
This beer was brewed during this time to celebrate our brewing and cellaring teams as they descend upon the valley for the annual New Zealand hop selection. We look forward to presenting it to the growers who work so hard to bring us unique and characterful hop experiences the world over.

L - pours a summery golden yellow haze. Like a glowing ball of bright yellow paint. Complementary white head is the cherry on top.
S - lemon zest and yeasty orange peel. Crisp, pithy, and with a hint of vanilla sweetness to top it all off. Pleasing to sniff.
T - lemon-lime, clementine, and green papaya. Earthy, piney, and deliciously resiny. Mild white grape must reminiscent of Nelson. Tame finish with a few tingling hops. Delightful balance. Not a whole lot wrong with this one.
F - velvety smooth. I am Jack's surprise.
O - I love that Nate is obsessed with NZ hops, because I am too.

This one pours a fairly hazy golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like clementine, tangerine, peach, lime, and lemony hops, with a little bit of grassiness.
Tree House does New Zealand hopped beers so well. This is super soft, with peach, tangerine, clementine, and lime being the predominant flavors, with a zesty, slightly grassy, and resinous finish. It’s exactly what I want for an IPA, really.
This is creamy, smooth, and quite drinkable.
These are the types of IPAs that I most want from Tree House.

Canning date 3/13/2025. Pours a densely hazed yellow color. Terrific nose and palate of tropical fruit as advertised, especially passion fruit. Very nice dankness, too.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated 1/7/24 into a teku glass.
L- Pours a hazy mango lhassie color with a creamy dense head.
S - Lush over-ripe tropical fruit aroma.
T- Quite lively hop bite for a 4 month old DIPA. Definite tropical juice, but some nice hoppy notes!
F- That unmistakable Treehouse mouthfeel is front and center!
O- A very nicely done NZ hopped DIPA!

Absolutely beautiful beer, although head retention is decent at best.
Nose is impressively dank and bright, in a way dirty and earthy.
Similar on the palate. Emphasis is definitely on tropical fruit, along with a touch of citrus, and a pretty heavy pungently dank blast. Notes of peach, melon, grape, pineapple, passion fruit, tangerine, and lime.
This is an explosively flavorful beer that truly focuses on New Zealand hops. Unfortunately, those (in particular Nelson) are far, far too dank for my palate these days, so my personal enjoyment is significantly less, but that shouldn't stop you from giving it a try.

From a month-old can purchased from the brewery a few days ago and kept cold since. Beer tasted very fresh at one month. Pours a milky yellow-orange with a nice white head. Smell and taste were intense and complex, with layers of fruit and a bit of resinous dank. Beautiful smooth, full feel. As good as any beer I've ever had.
