The Desire To Be Real features what we describe as the god combo of hops: Citra, Nelson, and Galaxy. At Tree House, we have rarely combined the three; here, they are layered into this beer in waves through a new whirlpool hopping process. Pouring a beautiful hazy color into your glass, The Desire To Be Real features the best expression of each hop, with the late harvest tropical notes punching through from Nelson, and the expressive orange juice character found in Oregon Citra. Additionally, Galaxy from Victoria shines brightly with ripe pineapple and lemon-lime character to bring it all home. The Desire To Be Real combines everything we have learned about the regional character of hops in the most expressive and bright way.

Pours a nice clean white head, about 1/4 deep, retention is good, not much lacing. The liquid is a bright yellow while fully opaque. The nose offers a marijuana dankness, melon, pear, apricot fruit scents, slight whiff of cracker, if there's any citrus it's lemony. Medium-bodied, carbonation fluffs it up a lot but the dryness makes it suck in its gut. Fruit veers some towards tropical here. Likewise, some tangerine gets in the mix with the lemon. Dankness most prevalent at the finish. Not a very easy drinker, finding myself having to concentrate and swallow. Pretty much in the brewery's idiom. (Canned 4/5/24)

Canned on 4/05/2024. Another lovely NEDIPA from Tree House. An especially nice nose of tropical fruit and darkness.

Had on tap at Sandwich. Pours milky, pale gold in color with one inch head. Taste is kiwi, lemon, lime and white grape. Medium body, moderate carbonation, bitter. Nice New Zealand style but not too in your face New Zealand. Well done.

From a 10-day-old can, pours a milky, bright yellow-orange that almost looks tinged with green. Smell hits while pouring, with fresh-cut tangerines, pineapple and white grape. Taste follows, adding in some dank green herbs. Nice hit of bitterness in the finish. Full, smooth feel. Amazing.
