The Prodigal Haze Part V combines Citra, Nelson, Rakau, and Peacharine to create a symphony of tropical fruit flavor.
Brewed with pale malt and a hint of extra light caramel malt, it has a hefty malt body that balances and propels the nearly eight-pound-per-barrel dry hop.
In addition, a new cold-steeping procedure was utilized following the hot-side brewing process.
With a big teak to the grist of previous iterations, Part V pours a hazy, light yellow color into your glass. It explodes on the palate with fresh summer stone fruit, juicy orange, mango nectar, and sweet passion fruit. It finishes softly with minimal alcohol presence, enticing your next sip. We find the best beers to be just as enjoyable at the end of your glass as at the beginning, and The Prodigal Haze Part V embodies this ideal beautifully. Enjoy!

16oz can dated 7/31/24.
Pours turbid yellow with an inch of white head. Moderate retention and lacing. Pungent aromatics with unripe peach, mango, orange. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Banging hops on the palate with minimal malt and a balancing bitterness. Mango, orange, peach. Finishes juicy but a bit raw and green.

L - oh man dude, pours like mud out of the can. Loaded to the gills with hops. Looks like sand. Creamy head that jiggles joyfully.
S - immediate dank aromatics of green onions, sticky stonefruit, and herbs. A hint of bubblegum peeks out from the murk.
T - just as dank as the nose implies. Sticky and sweet, but balanced by a tangy, lupulin hop bitterness. Booze heat accentuates the spicy grapefuit peel and general rindiness of it all. Malty and robust, this one features flavors of pulpy orange juice, fresh grains, passionfruit pith, and a splash of lime.
F - feels thick and muddy, but surprisingly it eases up on the chewiness. Optimistic carbonation a la Trillium that makes this easier to drink than it should be.
O - not what I expected after reading the name. Was expecting Haze! But I sure as hell did get haze, though. Turbid and roily with the dank and heat to hammer it all home.

Had on tap at Sandwich. Pours milky, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is white wine and tangerine. Heavy body, mod low carbonation, slightly bitter. A m'eh Tree House beer if there ever was one. Very New Zealand but I could not pick this one out of a lineup blind. Not gonna get this again.
