Pours a rich mahogany brown color with a creamy tan head that lingers more than expected.

The nose is rife with bourbon from the time you pop the top on the can to its journey into the glass, and there’s also rich toffee aromas and some stone fruit.

The stone fruit is more pronounced on the taste, but the stars of this beer are the bourbon and the rich toffee, which form a rich, decadent flavor profile that is way too easy too drink for a beer of this gravity. Magnificent stuff.

The mouthfeel is rich and chewy, fitting this world class beer perfectly. I need more of this.

Had on tap at Sandwich. Pours clear, chestnut in color with one third inch head. Taste is big barrel, vanilla, toffee and peat. Heavy body, moderate low carbonation, slightly sweet. Drinks like a good English barleywine. Tasty. Good job.

A blend of Tree House "Old World" (Scotch Ale) and "Ancient World" (barrel-aged Old World) both of which I enjoy, so how could it go wrong?

Pours a very dark chestnut with a small but lingering head. Smell is very much what i remember of Old World. The taste is closer to AW than OW, which I wasn't expecting. Sweet malt with a hint of peat. Thick mouthfeel from the alcohol, and while there's noticeable warming from the 10.8% ABC, there no hint of alcohol flavor. It really captures most of the essence of Ancient World in a much more drinkable (and affordable) form.
