Originally released in late 2014, Very Hazy put a stamp on the most formative and important year in Tree House history. On the cusp of opening our cannery, we had no idea what was to come. We still haven’t made sense of this period in our heads, but it is critically important to consider our past while we build our future. To celebrate ten years, we’ve amplified the concept of Very Hazy in meaningful ways and added a cornucopia of our favorite specific hop lots and discoveries across the last year. At Tree House we strive for each new beer to be our best beer yet, and we hope 10th Anniversary Very Hazy captures that. Enjoy.

Thanks to my friend MrDarcy for this thoughtful gift.
The beer poured a nearly opaque, deep yellow ochre hue. A fluffy, finger-tall, bright white crown topped the liquid, but it quickly dropped to a thin, lasting collar. Streaky, drippy lacing trickled all along the sides of the glass.
The aroma was outstanding. Tropical fruit notes dominated. Guava and papaya came through big time. Loads of ripe mango too. Honeydew melon was also detectable. The honeydew really intensified as the beer warmed. Juicy orange notes were apparent as well.
The flavor profile was nearly as impressive as the aroma. Again, tropical fruits came through strongest. Mango led things off on the front end. Some guava and papaya were noticeably as well. Honeydew melon was apparent in the center. Like in the nose, the honeydew presence really intensified as the beer sat. Citrus notes appeared on the back end. Nice melting of juicy orange flesh and zesty orange peel. The beer finished with a lingering, citrus rind-like bitterness.
Excellent creamy, soft, supple mouthfeel. Medium bodied for the style. Perhaps a touch thinner than I anticipated. The liquid contained a super fine, moderate effervescence that fluffed up beautifully on the palate.
Although Very Hazy is a terrific beer, this amped-up, tenth anniversary rendition of it definitely brings things to another level. The folks at Tree House have been creating “new and improved” recipes to celebrate milestone anniversaries for all their most celebrated hoppy beers and, of the ones I have tried, they have been nothing short of amazing.

Canned 11/5/2024. Pours a lovely, densely hazed straw yellow. Oodles of tropical and stone fruit on the nose and palate. Very smooth finish with a perfect bitterness. Really delicious.
