The king had heard of a contraption that could make the most tropical treats in the land, but he was never one to concern himself with rumors. That is until it arrived in front of his throne, and its creator demonstrated its mechanical magic. There was no denying that the robot was a feat of sweet, and a titan of tropical power. It was clear that man and machine working together would usher in a new era of supreme hoppiness! King Machine is a Double IPA that unites two of our favorite juice bombs! Pouring a rich orange color with layers of sticky foam, creamy hop-saturated fruity notes jump out of the glass. Citra and Amarillo hops burst with grapefruit aromas as well as sweet summer peach. Adding to these citrus notes, Columbus and Simcoe lend aromas of orange and lemon peel while bolstering its underlying hoppy dank character. Galaxy then rides atop these aromas with bright notes of fresh pineapple. Long live the king!

A combination of King Julius and Juice Machine? I am in for this. Pour is viscous with a deep shade of orange. Foam is ample giving way to residual lacing. Scents are a myriad of pungent citrus and tropical fruits, and flavors follow to a T. Chewy hop layers come along in waves atop the oated base with lots of tart rind flavors kicking in. Sweetness is noticeable but thoroughly limited by a long bit of resin that rides with the thick feel. Having had both King J and J Machine, this beer is the perfect amalgam of both with highlights of each coming to the palate. Very nice idea that is well executed.

Deep orange in color with a very white, thick frothy head. Nose is full on citrus. Taste is tart oranges, slightly zesty and hints of pineapple. Medium bitterness on entire palate.

16oz can into a Finback pint.

Pours hazy, orange. Foamy white head. Nice, thick, layered lace. Nose is cane sugar, candied oranges, and citrus fruit sherbet. Super aromatic. Huge citrus notes upfront. Clementine, juicy orange, and an astringent yuzu rind. Mango creeps in towards the end with some cantaloupe to finish. A real tropical fruit bouquet. Body is light to medium with ample carbonation. Prickly. Vibrant on the palate. Dry finish. Short finish. Amazing feel for the ABVs.

Really nice.

I first had this last June on draft at Charlton, enjoyed it very much that time. Glad to be able to revisit. Canned 12/29/25, reviewed on 1/15/26. Poured into a Teku glass.

Pours a hazy orange color that's a bit on the darker side, resembles mango nectar. A half-inch head recedes to a thin ring and thin foam on surface. Nice strands of lacing ring the glass.

On the nose there are strong tropical fruits, mango, fresh orange, stone fruit and a bit of spicy hops.

Flavors of tropical fruits - mango, orange, peach. A nice bitterness presents as citrus zest and a bit of hoppy spiciness. Low bitterness at first but it builds a bit on the finish.

Nice softness on the palate that's a bit fuller compared to King J or J Machine.

I would call this a richer version of King Julius with a big punch-up assist from Juice Machine. Delightful to drink.

16oz can poured into a snifter.

A: Complete opaque haze, thick like if you strained water through oatmeal. Dull yellow-orange color. Three fingers of rocky and creamy white head. Retention is ridiculous and lacing looks and sticks like spider webs.

S: Lots of pithy orange peel, sugared ruby red grapefruit, apricot. Lemon pith, too. Playful tropical notes of overripe mango, star fruit, and papaya. Fresh green plant shoots and grass. Perhaps the slightest whiffs of freshly broken pine needles. Malt base has that heavy dough and confectioners sugar character that is expected. Mild grain, toast, and caramel.

T: Orange juice, tangerine, papaya, and star fruit up front. Ruby red grapefruit is also in the juice "blend," and that is the dominant mid-palate note. Bitterness is surprisingly firm and clamps down a bit. Some hemp and pine. More earthy/barky tones than the nose suggested. Brush of alcohol. Malt base leans more toasty at first, with a bit of grain and crust. The softer dough and confectioners sugar are still there too, though. Off dry. Finishes with a doughy malt anchor and a lot of green and leafy hops.

M: Medium-full body. Nicely round, chewy and "silty." Good creaminess. Some rasping tannin and alcohol warmth. Carbonation is ample, with a firm prickle around the tongue.

O: Good mix of old school and new in the hop profile. It embodies the best of both worlds, from the modern tropical juicy, and gentle notes to the more earthy, piney, and citrusy west coast bitterness. Still firmly in hazy IPA territory overall and obviously intending to be there, though. Very well put together for the style, with it feeling coherent and well-executed. Very memorable, pretty great, and competitive with the best in the category. Very much worth seeking out and enjoying.

Pours a very hazy, turbid golden orange color with a creamy white head that blankets the glass with a quilt of lacing and provides a nice foamy cap on the beer. Gorgeous hazy.

The nose is a juice bomb filled with ripe peach, grapefruit, tangerine, and pineapple notes that coexist equally, and there’s also a bit of sweet oats.

The peach is most prominent on the taste and quite juicy, with the tangerine contributing heavily and the pineapple and grapefruit supporting, along with the sweet oats. Wow.

The mouthfeel is full and on the softer side as expected. This is an absolutely delicious juice bomb that is truly a pleasure to drink.
