California Dreaming is a West Coast-Style IPA with an assertive hoppy bite. Pouring a clear orange color, a cloud of foam rises before clinging to the glass in a ripple of sticky lacing. Cascade, Mosaic, and Strata hops lead with aromas of lemon jam, blueberries, and strawberry bubblegum. Notes of caramel malt then fade into a crisp finish with lingering notes of pine and grapefruit peel.

16 oz can dated 04.24.26
Pours clear yellow gold with a dense creamy white foam. Smells like strawberry preserves, mixed berries, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry jam, grapefruit, orange citrus marmalade, tropical pineapple, guava, mango, passionfruit, caramel malt, toffee, hints of butterscotch, and dank resinous earthy herbal grassy floral pine. Taste follows with mixed berry notes, strawberry preserves, raspberry, red fruit, blueberry, blackberry jam, grapefruit, lemony orange citrus, tropical passionfruit, pineapple, guava, mango, caramel malts, toffee, light butterscotch, honey, and dank resinous earthy herbal grassy floral pine. Feels medium bodied, creamy smooth with moderate carbonation. Overall a nice west-coast style IPA.

Poured from pint can (packaged 1/9/26) into a Sensorik goblet.
Pours a clear, bright golden color. About an inch of white head settles down to a solid foam ring with a bit of foam covering the surface. Good lacing.
Aroma is a nice blend of pine and citrus, primarily lemon, and some berry notes. There is some malt in the background, with some sweetness like a candied fruit. Very pleasant.
There is some sweetness here, a bit like a candied fruit, lemon drop or orange / lemon marmalade. Something of a berry note here also. Nice flavors here. Bitterness is low initially but present, and the bitterness builds in the finish.
Medium body. I'm liking the texture this presents, not the rounded "softness" of your typical NEIPA, somewhat "wetter" but not watery.
Very enjoyable beer. This reminds me of some of the IPAs coming from Vermont, with some malt sweetness, fruit-forward, not too bitter.

Slightly cloudy, pale yellow in color with a super thick white frothyhead. Nose is pine and dank!. Taste is also pine and dank with a bitterness kick. Well done WC IPA

16oz can poured into a snifter.
A: Bright and brassy golden color with perfect clarity. A finger and a half of tight, fine-bubbled bone white head settles to a thin slip after a time. Collars of lacing remain as the liquid level recedes.
S: Very playful and tropical nose. Kiwi and honeydew melon up front. Ripe star fruit and underripe mango. White grapefruit and lemon pith. A little pine and some catty c-hop bitterness. Maybe even some raspberry and grape-skin in there, although hop-derived. Strata can do some wild things like that. Malt base has a character of fresh bread dough and a little grainy toast. Perhaps a dab of honey. Quick whiff of yeast.
T: Follows the nose. Melon and tropical fruit up front. Kiwi and honeydew. Cantaloupe. Underripe mango and star fruit. Apricot. Gummy fruit snack sort of berry flavors. Doughy and honeyed malt base with some grainy toast poking through. Drying on the back end, and more of the piney and resiny sort of flavors pull through and build there. The finish is trailing bitterness of pine, green grass, white grapefruit, and pithy lemon.
M: Medium-full body. Very round with a nice firm texture. Lush and creamy, even a bit chewy. Hop tannin clamps somewhat aggressively. Carbonation is ample, but gently scrubbing.
O: It feels very old-school-meets-new in approach, at least with the hop profile. There is a lot of very playful, tropical and melony flavor that the strata and Mosaic are bringing. Classic Cascade is what anchors the experience and brings the West Coast vibe. They are two very different flavor profiles, but they still work together well. The malt base feels off-dry, but hits the mark. In particular I do love the firm, round, and creamy feel that it has. It's not really that mid-2000s West Coast IPA we all loved back in the day, but it isn't trying to be and it's great for what it is.
