Illuminate is an American Wheatwine that pours a pale chestnut hue into the glass. A complex grain bill brings forth notes of caramel-drizzled pound cake, honey-soaked figs, and freshly baked blondies. Its richness is tempered by a subtle blend of Amarillo, Nugget, and Cascade hops; they offer aromas of citrus and pine. This balanced sipper’s flavor evolves as it warms in the glass and will age gracefully if stowed away in your cellar.

Pours a mostly-clear, vibrant orange color with a slow-building half-finger of off white head. Modest retention, but strong lacing.
Stale hops contribute to medicinal, floral, leathery impression in the nose.
Sharp alcohol combines in the taste with strong medicinal herbs, cough syrup, dried flowers, orange citrus, old chew candy and a bitter finish.
Very full, chewy mouthfeel with restrained carbonation.
A heady brew that could use some melding and mellowing. It’s decent enough and might improve with aging, but the fanboy ratings for this one are extremely inflated.

Golden orange with a mild haze. Off white head retains well at a finger height. Aromas and flavors of Treacle, pineapple upside down cake, toasty grain, vanilla, orange gummy wedges, pine, dank bud, lemon, catty hops, Brush of spicy alcohol. Thick ribbon of caramel. Lots of orange, vanilla, and trailing toast and wheat on the finish. Body is thick with a firm malt texture and some fluffy and airy textures to lift the weight bit. It comes across like a very easygoing barley wine with a fluffy wheat texture- which is textbook for the style.

Pours clear, pale amber in color with minimal head. Taste is smoke, apple cider, honey and toasted wheat. Heavy body, low carbonation, slightly sweet. Interesting, complex, true to style. Better than it has any right by the being.

Pours mostly clear lightly hazy orange amber with a quickly receding off-white foam head. Smells like toasted bready malts, caramel drizzled pound cake, fresh baked blondies, honey-soaked figs, some apricot, orchard fruit, grapefruit, orange citrus marmalade, and earthy piney hops. Tastes rich and boozy with notes of honey, nutty light caramel, yellow pound cake, toasted malts, cedar wood, subtle coconutty vanilla, fresh figs, apple, pear, apricot, grapefruity orange citrus marmalade, hints of black pepper spice, and earthy herbal grassy floral pine. Feels medium plus bodied, thick, creamy and slick with smooth moderate carbonation. Overall a real nice wheatwine.
