This Dark Lager undergoes extended conditioning for unparalleled crispness and rich notes of chocolate, straw, and earthy noble hops.
Patient Nomad is a Czech dark lager (tmavé pivo) that undergoes extended conditioning in our lager cellar. Brewed with authentic light and dark floor malted barley and an assortment of roasted malts, it carries complex notes of cocoa powder, brown bread, hay, and earthy noble hops. Its long rest in stainless results in a striking clarity, softness in character, and tight carbonation with sticky meringue-like foam. It is thoughtful, elegant, and packed with nuance and character. We find that Nomads complexity commands your attention while simultaneously fades into the background with ease. Giving Nomad an extended journey only crystallizes this stylistic threading of the needle.

Tree House has taken Nomad, one of my favorites from them, and put it under extended conditioning. How could I not try this one?
Black in the glass but a deep dark burgundy when held to the light. About an inch and a half of light brown head. The head settles to a ring and thin foam cap. Extensive webs of lacing on the glass.
Notes of cocoa, dark bread, caramel, a light whiff of a grassy hops in the aroma.
Flavors of pumpernickel / dark bread, a bit of sweetness, with chocolate and coffee notes in the background. No noticeable hop flavors but a mild bitterness comes on to dry the palate a bit on the finish.
Feels lighter than medium for the body, but seems right for this style.
Very enjoyable. It's hard to say if the longer lagering period improved on an already great dark lager, other than to make it a bit smoother on the palate.
