Fellowship Nitro is our London Porter crafted with traditional nitro carbonation. Pouring an obsidian color with a dollop of coffee-colored foam, subtle aromas of baker's chocolate and earthy hops rise from the glass. Contained within its smooth body are notes of caramel malts, creamy coffee, and molasses-drizzled toast. The addition of nitro carbonation adds an authentic pub-like creamy texture to its complex character and a soft mineral finish.

I'm interested in Tree House's take on an English Porter. Also attracted by the LOTR theme for the name and label art. From a pint can (It comes in pints!?) poured into a Willi Becher glass. This one was canned 3/27/26, based on the IG post. The can was poured about 20 minutes after removing from the fridge to allow it to warm a bit.
Black in color. Nice cascading effect from the nitro treatment. There is about an inch and a half of light brown head once everything settled. The head has excellent retention. Sheets of lacing are left on the glass.
Aromas of chocolate and coffee, very strong when first poured, more subdued later on but still very present. There are also some bready malts and a bit of hops present.
Flavors of chocolate and coffee are most prominent, with notes of dark bread and caramel sweetness there as well. A bit of earthy hops help to balance the malt and dry the palate a bit on the finish.
Medium body. There is a bit of dryness left on the palate after the finish, not sure if from the hops or roasted malt, pleasant but lingers for a while.
A very good take on an English Porter. A great addition to the Tree House stable of classic styles.
