Welcome Rock is a single IPA inspired by the pristine landscapes surrounding our friends at Garston Hop Farm. Pouring a sunny yellow color with peaks of sticky white foam, Motueka in all its single-hop glory bursts from the glass. Notes of lemon jam, limeade, and plump blueberries float above its soft profile, fading into a dry, subtly herbal finish. The passion of these farmers and the surreal terroir they cultivate has made a lasting impression on how we view our craft. We hope this beer is a window into the world of New Zealand’s unique agriculture

I have been enjoying these IPAs using New Zealand hops for the past several years. This one looked intriguing, being a single-hop single IPA using Motueka. Poured from a 16 oz can, packaged 4/29/26, into a Tree House-branded Sensorik goblet.
Light orange with full-on haze, glows when held up to light. About an inch of white head that settles to a thin but firm layer covering the liquid. A web of lacing is left at the top and elsewhere on the glass.
Aromas of berries, also a bit of lime. Quite different than most Tree House NEIPAs that are more tropical or citrus-forward (i.e. orange) in the nose.
Flavors of berries and limes, also a bit of grapefruit rind in the back. Mild bitterness from start to finish.
Just shy of medium body. Good softness on the palate. This has a quick finish, flavors don't hang on too long.
Very enjoyable IPA with a unique flavor. Interesting to taste Motueka in a single-hop beer. This would be fantastic as an Double IPA.

Picked up a single can as part of a mixed twelve pack at Tree House Brewery in Tewksbury, Massachusetts for about fifty dollars. My four hundredth and fourteenth brew from these guys. Very good.
