We are excited that you are holding Tree House Brewing Company's flagship American IPA: Julius!

Julius is a bright, tropical beer, filled with notes of peach, mango, passion fruit and a melange of citrus. It is gentle on the palate while still incredibly hop-saturated.

It's the result of our uncompromising dedication fresh, progressive, delightful beer.

We hope you enjoy it with laughter, good cheer, and in the company of those you love.

I'm a bit torn in reviewing Julius after my second growler in two weeks: the first sample was everything I had imagined after the stellar reviews and ratings, but the second sample was like I was drinking a different beer (confirmed by the sender, a huge Julius fan).

Rather than try to describe both samples, I'll stick with the first batch and temper the ratings between the two samples.

Cloudy orange/yellow, just what I look for in an unfiltered IPA: even through the brown glass swing top growler, you can see the delightful cloudiness. A frothy one finger head reduces within a minute or two leaving splotchy lacing in the tulip.

Explosions of ripe tropical fruit assault your nostrils, maybe the nicest aroma of any single IPA I have sampled so far. Ripe mango, passion fruit, and nectarine are prominent, making your mouth water for the first sip.

The exceptional nose translates to the juiciest tropical fruit experience imaginable. Alcohol is so well hidden behind the mango blast, it is almost as if you are drinking carbonated juice with a delightful hop tang. Bitterness is moderate and long lasting, such a great beer to savor!

Mouthfeel is a nice medium, dry finish, carbonation just right.

When the second sample arrived, a peek through the growler revealed a non cloudy liquid, and the "mojo" simply was not there, though a nice smelling and tasting beer.
I would rate the first batch as a 4.90 and the second as a 4.10

Word is Julius is supposed to be canned soon: I hope that Tree House will be able to deliver a higher level of consistency than what I have experienced in my two samples. Higher volume production usually results in a lower quality product, it will be interesting to see what happens here. I would love nothing more than Tree House to be able to produce in cans what I experienced on my first sip of Julius: beer nirvana!

Orange and mango marmalade, smooth grapefruit bitterness. Sweet, zesty and bitter, with bitter and dry finish. Quite zesty, dank, and bitter, but it's smooth. Hints of peach, pine, and chives.

Amazing creamy, and chewy mouthfeel. Really well-balanced. 2 month old.

Julius has become my new favorite beer with its smooth, velvety, citrus flavor, eclipsing my old favorites, Heady Topper and Focal Banger. I've moved out of New England so can't easily get to the Tree House Brewing Company, but when I get an opportunity to visit, it's always my "must vlist" list.

This is a top 5 all time best NEIPA for me. The smell is fruity hoppy and the taste is very smooth. There is nothing bitter about this beer and the aftertaste is one of the smoothest I've ever experienced.

I’ve been on this site for a while and I always consider myself a noob (always trying to learn). I have no words for this beer other than it is wonderful. (Heck. Even the lacing left behind looked like a silhouette of the United States! Honestly.)
