Half pint at the brewery. This is a gin barrel aged Machine.
Appearance: Slightly cloudy straw/orange. Minimal head. Some lace on way down.
Aroma: Not much in the way of a nose. Touch of honey. Clean.
Taste: Oh my. They weren’t kidding re: gin barrels. Big boozy sting up front. Honey, lemon, too. Slightly medicinal. Very noticeable boozy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: It’s a sipper, in part because the taste is so in-your-face. Not unpleasant, but a touch harsh.
Overall: Definitely an aggressive, punchy affair. It more or less comes together, but it’s quite challenging compared to its “parent” beer. Worth a try.
