This version was a nitro pour.
No upward cascading bubbles. The beige head is not as dense as a typical nitro-poured stout. The dark brown liquid allows no light to pass even along the edge. Larger spots for lace but no blankets.
I pick up the usual dark chocolate and light coffee. There is also, oddly, a hint of green olives. In like that as it makes the beer more interesting.
Thinner for a nitro pour and the effervescence is like carbonation, not nitro. The flavor is classic dry stout with the black patent malt dominating the flavor. This is in contrast to the often notable coffee and bitter chocolate tastes. Shorter aftertaste.

The absolute worst oatmeal stout, or any stout I have ever had and I’ve had many many many stouts. Stouts and porters are all I drink. Barely better than a Budweiser

From the pint can, it pours a clear, very dark, brown/black color with a modest light brown head that diminishes to a nice ring. The nose gets roasted and black malts. The mouth gets the same - roasted and black malt flavored brew.

Nitro canned 2020/12/09. Love a good oatmeal stout on a Sunday afternoon
Pours a great upside waterfall head, thick frothy head that seems to stabilize at 2+ fingers, tan creamy head, never fades, thick lacing, very dark brown basically black color
Nose starts with nitro, but lots of cocoa and chocolate behind that, a bit of roast, fudgey even, plenty of creamy oats, maybe some lactose as well, hint of fruitiness
Taste more rich stout, creamy nitro up front but doesn't get in the way, some roasted malts and a hint of coffee, dark chocolate, a bit of creamy milk chocolate, bitterness from the roast, and a hint of spicy hop bitterness, a little fruity note again, mild baking spice and chocolate chip cookie, creamy oats, maybe a touch of lactose but I think all oats and nitro, mild sticky finish, bit of bitterness and chocolate lingering
Mouth is very creamy soft, med bod, soft nitro small bubbles
Overall not bad, nitro didn't get in the way and added to the creaminess, enough base stout came through to be enjoyable

16 oz nitro can poured into a nonic pint glass.
Pours a dark brown near-black color with a massive tan head. Retention and lacing are typical of a nitro beer, i.e. really good.
The aroma brings notes of milk chocolate, dark malts, cereal grains, and hazelnut coffee. There's a faint hint of dark fruits as well as an even fainter kiss of hops.
The flavor follows the nose to a T: Sweet milk chocolate, dark chocolate candy, caramel, dark roasted malts and grains. There's a bit of plum and cherry cola with a subtle hoppy finish. Slightly nutty throughout.
The feel is light to medium light. Very dry. A touch too watery.
Overall, this is a fine oatmeal stout that has a lot of great flavors and balance. I'd like to try this one without the nitro as I feel it needs more body and a kick of carbonation to really let the flavors shine.
