Collaboration with West Kill Brewing
A couple months ago our friends from West Kill Brewing made the trip up to Portland to brew a tasty spring lager with us. All Things Must Pass Czech Lager was brewed with 100% Moravian floor-malted barley, hopped in the kettle w/ a new to us CZ hop called Sladek, & fermented with our house Bohemian Lager strain of yeast.

Canned 2023/04/05
Pours a frothy creamy 1/2 finger white head with moderate retention, semi hazy med golden tan color
Nose light cereal malt, a little mineral water and maybe even chlorine note, straw, a bit of corn, bready, light herbal hop
Taste brings herbal spicy hops up front, med bitterness, light malt, cereal, doughy, a bit of a dishwasher water thing, maybe sulfate in there, bitter herbal spicy finish with a bit more sulfate
Mouth is med bod, med higher frothy carb
Overall something off here, likely something in the water that didn't do well through the lagering and even with the high hop levels it didn't mask it enough

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation along with lots of particulates floating in suspension. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly settled down, leaving a large patch of bubbles on the surface, a thin collar around the edge and thick lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pale malts are present in the nose along with notes of grassy hops.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the flavors of hops are bit stronger and there are also notes of spicy hops. the hops also contribute a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied, crisp and very dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this lager to be interesting and having a nice balance between the malts and hops.
