***This beer has been brewed again in 2016***
L: Deep, dark body with a head that pours dark brown and retains to more of a chestnut color.
S: Bright and fruity with some roasty characters in the finish
T: A little bit of dark fruits and chocolate, somewhat roasty and just a bit earthy
F: Body is just a bit thin which enhances its earthy bitterness. Balance is off for me, typically I look for more dryness in a stout, but this one had me looking for more sweetness. Incredibly, it's not boozy, despite it's somewhat thin body and dry profile--very impressive for 9.5% (2016 version)
O: Pretty good RIS, but not memorable.

The beer aroma hits of licorice, dark chocolate, spicy anise.
The flavor follows of roasted malt, lots of dark chocolate, a slight hit of alcohol, with a finish of dark fruit and anise. A clean drinking beer for its ABV with a medium mouthfeel.
