a very light take on berliner weiss, not too tart or sour, but enough lactic acidity to it to be extremely refreshing. the low abv also makes it an ideal warm weather session beer. the beer pours mostly clear and very yellow blonde. a short white head fades fast. a nose of white wheat malt and lemon rind. a touch of lactic acid, but its very mild compared to many berliners, just punchy enough to make my mouth water for it. the flavor is also very light. it has a fun citrus profile that is a product of slightly more aggressive hopping than the style usually calls for, not bitter at all though, very citric, which plays well on the natural lemon flavors in this bacterial brew. tart and dry in the finish, clean too though, and carbonated pretty well despite how flat is looks after the initial rouse of the poor. fun beer, and the best part is that its only 8 bucks a four pack. what other sours can you get at that price? i didnt know backcountry did stuff like this, and i hope its a sign of things to come from them. this will be in y fridge a fair bit this summer im sure. light and different.

Found this guy at Hops and Pie in Denver.
A rather large head on this one, soapy and bit thick, but settles to a collar. Mostly clear, but maintains a slight haze.
Aroma is tart and apple. Apple skin. Some lemon zest and light biscuit.
Flavor is strong in the beginning, and in the middle. Fades in the end. That apple is really nice, blends well with the tartness. The lemon zest and wheat linger around.
The end is the weak link here. Tartness fades and the dryness doesn't quite lift away the wheat feel.
Still, a really nice BW and great summer brew. Wish I had some syrup with this one
