This should be good.
On tap, pitch black, one finger foamy head, very sticky, reduced to lacing in short time.
Hops, pine, big roast and low fruitiness in the smell.
Surprisingly fruity at first, with some flavorful apricots, berries, tropical lychees and sweet citrus. Green notes follow, pine, spruce, but somehow ashy, because there's a big roast encompassing everything. A pretty big charcoal feel, quite some smokiness too, getting to cover up the other elements later on. The finish gets ashy and bitter-dry, with some hop notes punching through. There are dark spices throughout, and it gets a slight dry red wine feel as it warms, but the rough roasted malts are hard to get used to.
Less than medium carbonation, yeasty body, but not exactly a sipper. Alcohol perfectly hidden.
A nice collaboration, tho i wanted a bit more from those pinecones, and a bit more balance.
