Coffee coffee and more coffee. Good beer for the morning. Smells like a fresh brew and the taste doesn't disappoint. chocolate and creamy makes it quite light and at 4.7% it's a great early afternoon refreshment. Poured from a 500ml bottle into a tulip glass.

On-draught at the Bow Bar, Edinburgh:
A: Creamy mocha head of khaki colour. Soft as hell. 2 minute retention. Leaves a perfect coating of lacing as it recedes.
Body is an opaque brown-black. No yeast is visible.
Sm: Fresh cold brew coffee replete with palpable bitterness. Creamy chocolate. Dark malts. The one-two punch of coffee and chocolate is glorious....spot on for the style.
Aromatic intensity is above average.
T: Whoppers-y malted milk ball character, cream, coldbrew coffee, chocolate malt, a bit of hazelnut..it's dead on for the style, balanced, and straightforward. I quite like it. Not too sweet. No off notes, unwelcome yeast, or overt hops.
Mf: Aptly creamy....if I didnt know better I'd think it was on nitro. Smooth, wet, supple, soft. Slight overcarbonation. This texture accentuates the milk ball notes and emphasizes the cream, elevating the beer as a whole.
O: A great no-nonsense coffee stout with a nice marriage of texture & taste and a balanced flavour profile but wanting in terms of complexity. Will satisfy any fan of the style, though a bit more roasted barley as well as more of a dry mouthfeel would improve it greatly. Well worth trying at 4 quid a pint.

Dark brown, opaque body with a very good head.
Rather strong coffee flavor and moderately strong coffee aroma.

Poured from a 500ml bottle.
Dark brown, light head which disappeared quickly.
My sense of smell is buggared but there is a faint coffee smell.
Nowhere near as bitter as some of the other coffee beers I've had. Nice and smooth with a distinct coffee flavour. A bit lighter and less chewy than other stouts.
Would definitely drink this again.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a straight pint glass.
Pours a dark brown/black colour, with a tan head.
Smells strongly of coffee.
Tastes very much of dark yet slightly sweet malts, accompanied by coffee, lots of coffee. Not a lot of bitterness as you might expect from a coffee beer though.
Overall a very nice beer, chuggable and tasty perfectly balanced.

Gravity halfpint at the Euston Tap.
A: Black body with brown highlights underneath a tan head. Ok retention, spotty lace. Not bad.
S: Pure, light, fresh coffee. Nothing else, but that's all right with me.
T: Smooth coffee, light caramel, cleanly bitter finish, coffee aftertaste. Simple and effective.
M: Creamy, light carbonation in a medium body. Very pleasant.
O: This was a really nice little coffee stout; unlike others I've had at this general strength, it had enough body to stand up to the intense flavors. I'd gladly drink it again.
Cheers!
