On tap at Max's Wine Dive (Fairview), served in a shaker pint glass. Cloudy lemon yellow with a white head of fluffy foam, nice lace lattice. Crispy, lightly citrus and spicy aroma. Sweetish malt; citrus, soap and spice; slightly yeasty. Medium body and good carbonation. A New World saison, not quite classic but tasty and refreshing.

Amazing classic saison nose and great but short lived head. Granted this is a Tex-Mex twist on saison, I just don't believe corn should be a part of this mash. The Europeans only put cork in live stock feed. So you get a late Mexican beer taste combine with the Belgian candied flavor. But I question the grain bill with such a low ABV. Saison is supposed to be 7-9% ABV. But given the variety of these beers I have had lately.

A Saison with agave added...on tap at BRC
A: Pours a hazed golden/yellow color. A two finger white head forms and recedes in a second. Little lace.
S: Fruity hops up front, little to no yeast character. Sweet, soapy, honey like. Blah, no definition, and certainly not a Saison.
T: Like the nose fruity hops up front which is the only real character. Outside of some soapy, resiny slickness and nondescript sweetness. I assume from the agave. How is this anything resembling and Farmhouse Ale, let alone a Saison?
M/D: A medium body and barely moderate carbonation. A bit watery, to sweet, and messy for a Saison. Again, that is probably from the agave. Not the crisp effervescence bite that I am looking for. I don't know what this is, but certainly not to style, and nothing I really care to come back to style or not.
Another ho hum offering from 8th Wonder. I don't know why they feel the need to pass this off as any kind of Saison or Farmhouse. If you don't have any kind of distinct yeast character, then don't try. I don't know what the point of agave is for this either? Poorly made all around.

Missed this at one bar, then it showed up at my local bar. Really like this beer. Not much personality, so it will pair real good with food. Real nice dry finish.
