22oz bottle I probably bought in 2017-18. No date on the bottle. Totally forgot I even had it until earlier this week, and pulled it out for a Thanksgiving beer.
Poured into a SA glass, this was the color of Trump's hopes of legally overturning the election. Thin, bubbly, khaki colored head. Spotty lace.
Spicy Belgian yeast, some dark malts. A bit of a black licorice aroma. Dark fruits.
Taste pretty much like the smell. Both are of a lower amplitude than what I remember of it fresh.
Medium bodied. Doesn't quite have that classic mouthfeel of a Belgian-brewed classic of the style, but I've certainly encountered much worse in American brewed examples.
Not bad, but wish I'd cracked it open much earlier. I don't think this gained anything by letting it sit for 2-3yrs.
