Has the look of a good stout-poured well with caramel head , slight toasty aroma, good mouth feel/creamy, was better once it warmed up a bit.
light bourbon taste, IMO would like to see this as an Imperial. Overall solid stout, but I prefer higher ABV.

Had pretty high expectations for this beer, seeing other locals rate it the way they did. Unfortunately, it was no where near what others were saying. The taste is that of cheap whiskey and the mouth feel is very thin and almost watery. I was anticipating at least some stickiness even with the ABV being 6.00%. Chocolate notes are present but don't provide much past an initial taste. If you are ever looking for a barrel aged stout from Arkansas, Ozark Bourbon Double Cream Stout (BDCS) is light years ahead of this.
I won't write off Core because occasionally they brew some solid beers. This however, was not one of them.

L - 4.5 poured beautiful into a tulip glass with a black body then thick caramel head
S - 3.25 slight bitterness and strong blinks smell
T - 3 taste like a basic dry stout. The bourbon flavor was none-existent. Guinness??
F - 4 smooth, low carbonation. Decent coat of mouth
O- 3.5 decent beer. I probably won't have another with there being far more superior beers of this style, not the best wee heavy I've had by any means.

This is a fantastic limited release of CORE's Oatmeal Stout. Very smooth, great mouth feel, may be a bit heavy/boozy for some, but as a bourbon lover, it is just perfect for me. I sure wish this would be around longer!
