SO close to perfect. Not necessarily hitting on what I normally look for in an IPA. Not much citrus, not much pine. It does have some hops, but mostly malt hitting in the front. There’s a forward hint of vanilla that is just BEGGING for a touch more sweetness.

That bitter vanilla is the only thing holding me back from a perfect score.

A: Pours a fairly clear golden yellow. Maybe minimal haze. A white head rises to one finger and recedes after a minute. Light lace is left behind.
S: Hop forward and pretty simple. Citrus juice, with pine and a bit of resin lingering. Enjoyable but could use some more depth.
T: Follows the nose. Citrus, juice, pine, resin and bitterness builds. There is also a touch of caramel malts in the background.
M/O: A medium body with moderate carbonation. Clean, but could have a little better finish. Though overall, simple and enjoyable to drink.

Not a NEIPA at all, at least from what I had at the Public House in North Little Rock (which is owned by Core, so I would assume they have it fresh and correct). Maybe they have updated this a bit? Regardless, a nice simple pale ale that I enjoy.

According to brewer this beer is hazy and "juicy" by design. Pours to a head that starts out as 2 finger and lasts at a quarter inch all the way down and leaves mounds of concentric lacing. Hazy deep golden color as per style. Aroma is definitely a balance of citrus/juicy hops and clean, crisp pale malts. Flavor is a balanced and juicy blend of light crackery malts and juicy hops. There's enough malt sugar left to keep it from being all hops. Not really a resiny bitterness in this at all. Alcohol is well hidden. Mouthfeel is full for style by design and it works well. Moderate CO2 helps maintain lacing and smooth MF. Tastes much like a more balanced version of NEIPA. A very sessionable beer that brings the malt character of APA along for the ride with the intense hops.
