Pours a foggy straw with a finger of white foam. Aroma is zesty, medicinal, citrus hops, banana, clove, bready and musty malts. Flavor profile is medicinal, zesty, citrus, grapefruit hops and bready, nutty, earthy malts. Clove and spices add a little extra depth. It is distinctly bitter. Mouth feel is medium-thin with a sharp carbonation throughout. Overall, balance is a little less than stellar here, and leans towards bitter, detracting from the typical soothing characteristics of a helles.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegalau tulip from a 12oz can. Reviewed on Beers by BeerAdvocate.

Appearance:
Can: Best By date Feb 15 2019. Creamy white head that falls to thin layer that lasts and laces a bit. Color is medium Yellow and turbid (maybe it was can conditioned?).

Aroma:
Bready, doughy, slight DMS note. Hops are low and floral/grassy.

Flavor:
Bready/biscuity with light sweetness and softly balanced by the low bittering of the noble hops. Clean, crisp finish.

Mouthfeel:
Light to Medium. Low to Moderate CO2. Smooth and lagery and no astringency. Feels great.

Overall:
This generally conforms to the BJCP style guidelines except for the murky appearance. The bready, doughy, DMS smell is there and it bothers me so I cannot give it a higher drinkability score. It suggests a hurried process and maybe distressed yeast. Or it could just be degradation in the can. Another can bottom code says "HELL072518" which I interpret to mean HELL (as in helles) 07/25/18 which is probably when it was born. I am sure off the bright tanks this beer is a whole point higher on the five point scale. Not sure how much of the deviance is the five month lag. I know that CORE is trying harder and getting better product out there in general. Keep on plugging!

Pours a clear amber color with a thin white head and small lacing.

The smell is bready malts and a little floral with something slightly unpleasant/skunky.

The taste is slightly bitter floral and lemon with bready malts.

The mouthfeel is medium body with lingering bitterness.

Overall the flavors are a little subdued and bitter.
