Pours a dark burgundy-brown with a clear transparency. Head foams up eagerly and quickly, with foreshadowing based on the bulge at the top of the can - meaning it's eager to meet its drinker. Head foamed up over three fingers of khaki foam after a modest pour. Head retention is good. Aroma is toasted, muddled malts with fragments of yeast, caramel and zesty hops. It has a tough time picking a direction. Flavor profile is toasty, bready, earthy, caramely, candied malts with a bit of heavy, rye bread over the top. It's lightly sweet, and malt driven. Much better focus here. Hints of yeast and zesty hops at the back liven it up as the malts taper off. Mouth feel has a slight effervescence that dissipates into a more creamy texture as it warms. It has a medium-thick consistency. Overall, a little all over the board, but the flavor profile does well.
