a delicious dark mild, enjoyed on nitro actually as nitro entertainment, a format i think is really well suited to this style. this has a hearty autumnal even festive complexion, deep amber in color with a creamy rich nitro head and an aroma of spice cake, mulling spices, dried fruits, and sort of trail mix-esque, a little sweet, quite complex, really pretty inviting and interesting. it tastes less english to me than these usually do, less influence from the yeast and not just the classic grain flavors either, it almost seems to have a belgian sweeter like chateau type malt to it, long boiled and concentrated too, notes of fig and dried cranberry and cherry, raisin and toffee, dark warm bread, its awesome and much more exciting than so many of these are, entertaining as the name suggests. i really like the body and the richness from the nitro tap, and i like how this is so flavorful yet so low alcohol, a perfect afternoon session brew. i thought all the beers here at home were very good, definitely check them out when you are in the area!
