In life, Jutsu is all about stealthy ninja techniques (well actually techniques, skills, methods, tricks, or spells according to Wikipedia) but in beer it’s a fantastically balanced pale ale brewed with Citra, Amarillo, and Mosaic hops. A clean malt character provides the perfect base for the fruity, juicy hops to take centre stage. Easy drinking with low bitterness. Meet version 1.0!

Hazed golden colour, one finger of white head, good lace. Smell is big and fruity up front, hoppy with lots of tropical and citrus fruits, grapefruit, mango and orange, just a hint of crackery malt. Taste follows the nose, big fruity hops, medium bitterness, leans toward sweet initially with grapefruit, pineapple and orange with an understated malt in the finish. Lightly carbonated, medium-light body a bit oily. Quite well done, solid stuff, both V.1 and V.2 are very good, I don't have a runaway favourite between the two jutsu's.

A coppery orange coloured pale ale with lots of tropical and citrus on the nose. Flavours are similar with some peach or apricot in there as well. Carbonation is spot on and the body is a bit light. Overall I'm a fan of this as I am off everything from Bellwoods I've had to date. Hoping to get my hands on Jutsu 2.0. Thanks Bellwoods!

New pale ale from Bellwoods. Really nice nose on this one. Lots of tropical and citrus fruit with some pine. Very pungent. Flavour is not quite as remarkable, but still very good indeed. Similar flavours, lots of fruit with pine. The pine flavours mesh well with the fruit, bringing some complexity. Really good. I expect this will become a regular.
