When we found ourselves with a fair amount of passionfruit puree left over after our blend of 2017 Motley Cry (a wild ale with passionfruit) we did what any self-respecting person would do - brew a massively dry-hopped double IPA and condition it on the remaining fruit.

Aroma nice & fruity with noticeable grapefruit & passionfruit upon opening 500mL bottle bought at the brewery. Pours a cloudy opaque orange & like a few other Bellwoods IPAs, carbonation is super active; like pouring a can of sodapop. Head dies down quickly leaving a glassy surface with no lacing. Taste is super juicy but dominated more by sour grapefruit than the passionfruit more present in the aroma. It's really like drinking a glass of juice; grapefruit, orange & passionfruit mixed with some sparkling water added as the carbonation remains somewhat active and along with the sourness of the grapefruit & slight heat from the 8% ABV, gives each sip a nice sharp, warm finish. This beer has a little more sour fruitiness than I'd like, but certainly unique, and close enough to a DIPA that I enjoyed it, even though I do not particularly enjoy the sour fruit beers which have become popular lately.

Pours an opaque dark peach with hints of orange. No head and no lacing. Smell is dominated by passion fruit. Taste is sweet with a tang finish, a really nice range on the palate. Clean dry finish with a hint of bitter peaking in the middle.

From a 500ml bottle served at 10 degrees Celsius into a snifter. The beer was allowed to warm up during consumption. The bottle was picked up fresh from the brewery.
Look: The beer pours an opaque orange – like pouring a glassful of orange juice – with .5cm of off-white, bubbly head that dissipates immediately. No cap and no lacing. Far from a looker for sure.
Smell: Strong hops with passionfruit, citrus, grapefruit, and orange.
Taste: Quite sour to my surprise and follows the aroma. Strong hops with notes of citrus, tropical fruit, passionfruit, orange, and grapefruit. The finish is medium-dry and moderate intensity.
Feel: Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Drying, puckering, and sharp. No apparent alcohol warmth even at 8% ABV!
Overall: I love passionfruit and this brew incorporates it well. Damn delicious with a nice aroma and Bellwoods Brewery written all over it. Great drinkability for a flavourful, high ABV beer. I'd have it again but it's a one-off :P

500ml bottle from Hafis.
Opaque light orange with generous head. No lacing. Passion fruit dominates the nose and the tongue. Pleasantly bitter. An interesting one off to be certain.

A wild ale really (base motley), double dried hopped, with the passionfruit puree. Outstanding tart wild. ABove average mouthfeel. Bottle, appropriately named.

A DIPA with passionfruit. Completely opaque, looks like Juice, but with a big, long-lasting head. Smell is all passionfruit. Similarly, the flavour is very passionfruit dominated. There are other fruit flavours swimming around from the hops- some real citrus elements- but the fruit is very dominant. I found it overpowering at first, but was enjoying it by the end.
