Style: American Wild Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.60%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
This limited edition version of Jelly King includes a large dose of guava puree, blended on top of a mixed fermentation sour ale with a hefty dry hop. The result is juicy, sour, and bursting with fruity aroma and flavour that comes enrobed in a light pink hue.

Restrained bitterness contributed by fruit rather than hops, juicy aromatics, and a dry body with notes of guava and citrusy hops. You're welcome.

Really hazy, vanilla pudding look with off-white head. Aroma is really tart and fruity with tropical notes like maracuja. Taste follows with tart and juicy fruits, some yeast funk, light sauerkraut, slightly bitter finish. Medium plus body with medium carbonation and a light prickly/astringent feel. I really like it, easy drinking and refreshing.

This one pours a super hazy pink-ish orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

There's so much juicy guava on the nose, with stone fruit and tart grapefruit, lemony acidity, etc, etc.

This is a really excellent expression of guava- it's about 40% sweet/60% sour, with a nice stone fruit and grapefruit hoppiness, a bit of lemon rind, slight acidity, and a seemingly creamy and oat-derived finish.

This is creamy, and super juicy, with a good level of carbonation.

This whole series has been truly fantastic.

Jelly King is one of the great Ontario beers. Incredibly tasty, remarkably consistent and almost always available these days. This variation is tasty, but certainly not as good. The tartness remains nice and refreshing, but the beautiful bright fruit flavours from the hops are overwhelmed by the guava. Interestingly, I thought the guava worked much better in the Milkshark, while the blackberry Jelly King was fantastic and the corresponding Milkshark not so much.
