He is a ruler, an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head. In the realm of all that is tart and sour, Jelly King reigns supreme.
Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, we decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop, harnessing the prowess of lactic acidity, and coming to a bottle near you without a pesky slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of immediate gratification.
This limited edition Jelly King variant was conditioned on loads of raspberry and blackberry.

At my lady Pamela's house; bottled and chilled, 500mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. My tenth beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and fifth for 2025.

Really good. Pours a Red Pink color with a hint of purple. I guess the color of mixing raspberry and blackberry together. Tastes exactly as you would think. As a matter of fact, i thought it tasted like a mixed berry smoothy. Tastes like real fruit and not just flavoring. At least I think so. Not overly sweet, more heavy on the raspberry than blackberry. Super easy to drink. Hides any sort of alcohol. I would drink it again for sure.

A 500ml bottle, bottled on 17th February 2021, and poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.
Appearance: A cloudy cross between beetroot and merlot reddish purple colour, with a two finger pinkish head that had decent retention, but left only sparse spotty lacing.
Aroma: Jammy fruity mixed berries, especially raspberry, sparkling tangy lemon zest, with light notes of yoghurt and wheat.
Taste: Sour, tart, moderately jammy, mixed dark berries, raspberry, blackberry, lemon zest, with light bready notes in the background.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to soft carbonation.
Overall: I’m not sure how much of the dry hop came through with the jammy fruit representing itself strongly, but this same jammy fruitiness was also what made it thoroughly enjoyable and easy to drink.

Thanks to Coronaeus for this one, from the recent NBS BIF #12.5. 16.9oz bottle poured into 14oz teku. Poured a dark pink color with over an inch of pink head that very good retention and almost no lacing.
Strong raspberry at the front of the nose, with some light yeast spice underneath. No real grain or hop scents.
Very similar on the tongue; berry dominant, some yeast funk, no notable grain or hop.
The body was light and smooth, carried good carb throughout and had a semi-sweet finish.
Drinkability was very good, especially if you like raspberries, which I love.
Overall, a very nice brew. certainly worth a shot if you get the chance.

500 ml bottle from the LBCO for $7.50 CDN. High hopes for this. Bottled November 30, 2020.
Appearance - Magenta in color, a finger of loose pink froth at the head. Great retention and even some sparse lacing clings to the glass.
Smell - Raspberries and some other berries, could be blackberries, could be something else. Good intensity with a light wheat backing to all of this. Intense berries.
Taste - More intense berries. So much raspberry and blackberry flavor. Tart and sour but balance and just enough hints of sweetness. Very fruity.
Mouthfeel - Soft, lightly carbonated yet tart and textured. Acidity is obviously quite high, but works perfectly with the flavors.
Overall - Honestly, one of the best sours I've ever had, it's not that close. The only sours I prefer are Flanders Reds and even then only the best of Rodenbach's products which are entirely different kinds of beers. This Jelly King Rendition is just divine. Well worth a try and I look forward to experiencing again if I can find it.

Another fantastic Jelly King variant from Bellwoods. This one tastes like late summer to me...the mashed berries adding flavor and acidity. perhaps one of the best variants I've had.

Great combination of hoppiness, tartness, and sweetness. Lots of blackberry and raspberry in this fine blend with a good sweet midtaste and aftertaste.

Big rosy pink head settles to a cap then to a ring. Not much by way of lace. Opaque ruby red. Big fruity nose, lots of delicious raspberries and blackberries. Mmmm. Just enough tartness up front, big fruit tontaste, gently dry to finish. Another great addition to the JK line up.
