Greenbelly emerges as our first Triple IPA, and with it, a reminder that prodigious hop additions just taste good.

Hugely aromatic, with notes of juicy strawberry, lemon meringue, and fresh pressed OJ, low bitterness, and a pillowy soft body, this beer translates a great magnitude of hops into an impressively balanced, hazy orb of wonder.

Can purchased at Fattey Beer Co in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a very hazy golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like pineapple, peach, and marijuana.

I don’t really enjoy triple IPAs, but this is honestly one of the better ones. It’s not too boozy, but it’s definitely sweeter than I typically want my IPAs to be. It’s quite peachy, tropical, and pineapple heavy, with a slight herbal bitterness. The bitterness is very soft and very light.

This is pretty thick, creamy, with a decent enough drinkability for a 10% ABV.

I picked this out of the cooler randomly because I love Bellwoods, but I had no idea it was a triple IPA before I opened it. It wasn’t as disappointing as I thought it might be after this realization.

Pours hazed gold with a frothy but shortlived head. Mango, pineapple, lemon hops in the nose. The taste is an explosion of juicy hops balanced by a very prominent doughy maltiness. The mouthfeel is fullbodied with high carbonation. High bitterness and plenty of tropical juicyness in the everlasting finish.

This is a very nice Imperial IPA (or 'Triple IPA') with fantastic hop complexity. A must try.

The difficult decision to choose what to drink next left me with trepidation. After rifling through the goodie I was sent, I closed my eyes and selected a beer. The last beer I drank from this brewery was another IPA.
Using a tulip glass from Stone Brewing before they got bought out. The temperature hovers around 44 degrees; I need to let this warm up a bit. A one-fingered bright white foamy head was created. The behemoth alcohol content probably has something to do with the quick dissipation. Some lacing was left on the glass. The color charts around SRM 6; are pale golden with straw-like hues. It is hazy, akin to muddy water, but for beer.
Holy Shit, the first whiff of the glass, I smell berries and lemons. The hop profile smells like Barba Rouge and Huell Melon. Smelling the beer again, I detect melons, crackers, biscuits, sweet bread, and herbal. After the beer has warmed up considerably, I get a slight hint of yeast, pineapple, gooseberries, and peaches.
I am expecting a massive fruit bomb, and I got one. Wow, the fruit profiles are pears, mangos, strawberries, melons, and grapefruit. The alcohol is perceived through the taste. It has this slight nail polish undertone; it is not unpleasant. The malt bill is bready and sweet grain. Other flavors in the beer are floral, eucalyptus, bay leaves, and a touch of grass.
The mouthfeel is slightly warming, finishing somewhat bitter. This has a heavy body and has medium carbonation.
The hops are immense. I Loved the hop combination and how is blossoms on my palate. The malt backbone is strong and keeps the hops in check. I am so glad I got to experience this; thank you, Peter.

473 ml can served cold-ish into a tulip. Purchased from the brewery and canned April 6, 2022. Awesome looking can that reminds me of some of the kids artistic jungle books.

Appearance - Hazy and turbid looking pale yellowy/orange colored brew. A finger plus of long lasting white head. Sparse lacing.

Smell - Loads of citrusy hops, a little dank, a little gym shorts. Citrus is comprised of grapefruit mostly with a little passionfruit and papaya thrown in,

Taste - Dank and earthy with lots of tropical hops. Above average bitterness but nothing extreme. Tastes green, Grapefruit and papaya (I think) are the big citrus flavors. Orange shows up too. Lemon meringue and strawberry (as advertised) are a bit of a stretch. Booziness isn't overwhelming, but definitely there.

Mouthfeel - Full bodied, medium carbonation, a big sticky, green and a bit hot on the palate (no surprise with these ABV levels).

Overall - A well made TIPA, but not one I'd go out of may for. A bit hot a bit green and have enjoyed others locally a little more than this one. With that said, it's still impressively well made.

Pours a very pale yellow, with a big ass head, that only slightly remains. The nose is of fruit, hops, vanilla...and, at least initially, an unkept lady. If you know what I mean. But don't worry, this latter scent passes.
The taste is just missing something, but I can't put my finger on what. It's just slightly dull, with a tart background. I expected more. Not a bad beer overall though. And the can is beautiful.

Can: Poured a cloudy/hazy yellow color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of huge juicy hops presence with some citrusy floral undertones is quite enticing. Taste is a nice mix of juicy hops notes with light green leaf notes with some huge floral undertones notes and light residual sugar notes also perceptible. Body is full with limited filtration and good level of carbonation and no perceptible alcohol notes. Well brewed triple IPA that is dangerously drinkable.
