A new, luminous IPA suffused with bright fruity flavours capable of doing your laundry, planning your meals for the week, and decreasing your daily screen time.
Green Velvet has its origins in An IPA, our ongoing and succinctly-named IPA series, which provides us with an opportunity to experiment with different hop combinations. One such combo that particularly caught our attention was Citra and Loral. Thus, Green Velvet: a beer that features an abundance of Citra and Loral and a third, rotating hop (the third hop in this batch is Cascade).
Notes of pink guava, orange juice, and kiwi.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a Teku glass. From the Huron Church Rd. LCBO in nearby Windsor. Canned November 18/25. My 42nd beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 16th for 2026. Blatantly admired by Sundae the cat...

Another banger from Bellwoods. Yellow cream color with hint of orange. Pours maybe a finger of foam head that keeps good lacing. Mild citrous smell to it. Taste is of bitter orange juice, which I like. Nice light hoppy taste to it. Overall another solid beer from Bellwoods. Good job, again.

Brief Review:
O: Been a big fan of Bellwoods for some time since we passed through Canada a while back. Loved the sours. Never really had any other style to this point, so pleasantly surprised by this Hazy. Very light, good balance. Would maybe like it to be a touch juicier, but can’t complain.
Recommendation: Nice IPA offering, can’t wait to try more. Worth the try if you’re craving a good hazy.

Pours a golden hazy color. Foamy head formation with little retention. Citrus on the nose. Apricot, pear pinnaple flavor. Thin mouthfeel but overall a very tasty one.

Pouring a bit juice like, this one is light orange with no head, just a ring.
The nose is the per-requisite citrusy, hoppy goodness.
The juice reference was spot on as the body is thicker than most. Quite chewy. It's also tart and a bit too sharply carbonated. The taste is nice enough (grapefruit, perhaps mango) in the background, but both the tartness and the carbonation robs it from being enjoyed.
I think I'd skip this if offered again.

Pours milky straw colored with a small head that musters up plenty of lace trails. The aroma is intense tropical mosaic, citra type hops with a subdued, dry cracker malt background. Huge waves of tropical, citrus, pineapple, white pepper, rosewater hops in the taste. The mouthfeel is full bodied with creamy, active carbonation. High bitterness and lots of residual mango and pineapple in the long finish.
Another banger of an IPA from the Toronto masters. Worth a try if you like 'em hoppy.

473 ml can served cold into a tulip. Purchase from the brewery. Canned June 14, 2022.
Appearance - Turbid yellowy gold color with honey brown hues. A finger plus of frothy white head on top. Good staying power and a fine ring of sticky lacing.
Smell - Super green, weedy with a bunch of citrus in behind. Grapefruit and guava with some lemon maybe. There's also a dank weediness to the aroma.
Taste - Quite a bit of grain up front, some wheaty and oat-ish qualities. Then an assortment of green weediness, followed up by some citrus with grapefruit playing the most prominent role. Unusual to taste this much weediness, I think part of that is by design and part is the fact that this is less than two weeks old.
Mouthfeel - Medium-full bodied, rich and semi-creamy with moderate carbonation and a super smooth and robust texture.
Overall - The wheat, oats and dankness give the illusion of dense IPA that has some stout-like charcteristics feelwise - Green Velvet is a very appropriate name for that reason. The green dankness of this brew can't be understated. A winner in my book and one of the best IPA's I've had in quite a while.

Good looking beer. Glowing orange with a finger+ of moderate density foamy white head. Good lacing. Aroma is heavy on the general citrus notes, and bursts from the glass. Taste is plenty bitter, with notes of grapefruit rind. Medium feel, and sticky with a long finish.
