473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. Purchased from the brewery.
Appearance - Dark dark brown and virtually black. Two fingers of light tan head are poured and stick around for a while. Small ring of lacing left behind.
Smell - Lots of roasty notes, coffee most prominently. A touch of chocolate as well and maybe just the smallest kiss of vanilla.
Taste - Big, coffee stout, with coffee flavor, a touch of dark chocolate and possibly vanilla, earthy flavors and more coffee. A bit harsh and boozy in the execution, but that is not unexepcted with a 10% ABV. The coffee flavors does taste quite good.
Mouthfeel - Full bodied and middling-low carbonation and an astringent and semi-sharp finish with the roasty coffee flavors and booziness.
Overall - A good coffee stout, plenty of flavor and easy enough to enjoy, just a little less restrained than others, not the mellowest beer out there for sure. Still well worth a purchase and I look forward to trying a couple more before they are sold out
