I forgot about this one that Coronaeus sent me in his LIF box, making this the second to last beer from that box. This is an interesting concept to have a mystery beer directly from a brewery. It seems like Bellwoods wants to get in on the BIF fun we all have. Let’s crack it open and solve the mystery
Pours a cloudy yellow gold with 2 fingers of soapy white head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is bright and funky, I’m digging this so far. I’m picking up on aromas of apple skin, lemon juice, crackery malt, white pepper, pineapple juice, wet hay, coriander, white tea, and tannic white wine
It’s a lot more of the same in taste and I’m perfectly fine with that. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting pineapple juice, white pepper, tannic white wine, like zest, coriander, wet hay, wildflower honey, and lemon juice. The swallow brings notes of lime zest, tannic white wine, coriander, white pepper, lemon juice, wet hay, stone, crackery malt, and white tea
A light medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes bone dry and refreshing
For a beer I don’t know much about, this is damn good. Light and refreshing but full flavored
