Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with some retention and some lacing notes. Aroma of deep rich cocoa chocolate notes with some vanilla notes and residual sugar notes. Taste is also a mix of deep rich cocoa chocolate notes with some vanilla notes with some slightly gross residual sugar notes. Body is thin for style and good carbonation with no real discernible alcohol notes. I definitely preferred the prior year version as this is unbalanced flavor wise.

Bottle from the source. Drunk relatively young. lots of very good and not cloying sweet chocolate taste and big mouthfeel. Imperial chocolate stout. Yes stout base.
