Inspired by our "old world" Bellweiser Pilsner, we created a moodier (though equally refreshing) Dark Lager version — and aptly named it Hellweiser. Scoop up this roasty and crisp treat while you can.

Can: Poured a black color lager with a off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some light cereal notes is interesting.Taste is a mix of easy drinking roasted malt notes with light cereal and a semi dry finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Easy drinking black lager.

Can from the brewery. Served in a mason jar.
A - Attractive brew, with voluminous lingering cream foam and thick, chonky head, and mild lacing. Body is a near-opaque dark brown that reveals some amber tinges when held to the light.
S - Roasted malts, nutty, a hint of chocolate and smoke. Is this a partigyle for Hellwoods with Czech lager yeast? As it warms there is a bit more sweetness to it.
T - Taste is heaver on the char and bitter roast, with less nuance and balancing sweetness to it. Lots of flavor for 4.5%, but a bit acrid in the finish.
M - Medium body that is sufficient for 4.5%. Pleasant, lively carbonation. A bit grainy.
O - Very drinkable dark lager, with lots of flavor and body for the ABV. I just wish there was like 20% less burnt/char notes.
