500 ml bottle served cold into a pint glass. Purchase from the brewery. Bottled December 12, 2023.
Appearance - thick and viscous black beer, oily and slick. No head formed initially, however after pouring then letting sit for a minute, a finger plus of dark tan head formed.
Smell - Chocolate and mint, trace of vanilla and bourbon. Very Christmas-like.
Taste - Oodles of chocolate, some vanilla and then a strong finishing kick with mint. Cocoa powder afterwards. Very decadent.
Mouthfeel - Very thick and full bodied with low carbonation. Sticky and syrupy with a chewy texture. Almost as if if eating a brownie.
Overall - I'm a sucker for chocolate mint beers and a big chewy stout like this rendition of CHUNK has delivered in all facets. Excellent flavored imperial stout.
