This stout is just ok.
Not enough good flavor.
I'm not really feeling this one although i like their Dry Nitro Stout 4.5% quite a bit.
With the amount of other stout and porters available at LCBO i won't buy this one again.

Pours cola black with amber edges in the glass. The head is modest but musters up plenty of tan lace. Dark chocolate, coffee and tobacco in the nose. The taste is roasty with lots of chocolate flavor and leather and astringent notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with prickly, moderate carbonation. Moderate bitterness and lingering cocoa in the finish.
This is a nice Export Stout with lots of malt complexity and plenty of dryness.

Can from the brewery. Review from notes. Served cold into a pint glass.
Appearance - Pours a near black brew from can to glass. Dark brown in the light. A small finger of light tan head rests on top and stays awhile. Not much in the way of lacing.
Smell - Roasty notes and some hints of dark chocolate. Light smokiness too.
Taste - Dark chocolate, fairly bitter, trace smoke and a little leather mixed in. Nice combination of flavors.
Mouthfeel - Silky smooth, medium-full bodied with modest carbonation. Slightly creamy and decadent quality.
Overall - A rather solid Export Stout, a style which I wish we saw more of in these parts.

Can: Poured a pitch-black color stour with a medium dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt with some dry roasted malt notes and light bitterness. Taste is also a good mix of chocolate malt with some dry roasted malt notes and light bitterness. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Well brewed old school export stout with good drinkability.
