Pours black with a beautiful mocha head that disappears quickly enough. The nose is the prerequisite chocolate, fig and bourbon. The taste is nice, though a tad bit too sweet. No vanilla is supposed to be in here, so I guess the sweetness is the malt.
There is a smokey finish and a nice, boozy aftertaste.
A completely fine BBA Stout, though no better than the best competition in this class. And they do it for a few dollars cheaper. So if you are the most expensive in Ontario, you better do it better, but Bellwoods doesn't.
