Poured a gorgeous semi-translucent reddish brown body with a one finger cap of off-white head that receded slowly leaving abundant Belgian lacing down the glass. Overall impression of appearance is of an amazing quad, very true to form. Scents of rum, molasses mingling with alcohol warmth and the light woodiness and wild, lightly funky aromas of the barrel underlaid by moderate notes of rum soaked dark fruit, prunes, raisins and dried cherries with some brown sugar. Overall impression of aroma is of a fantastic barrel aged quad. It is rich and deep, yet transforms the base beer in a fantastic way. Flavor begins big and boozy, with strong notes of rum and light cinnamon, along with dark fruit, again rum soaked and light levels of the toasty malt. Middle gains in alcohol warmth, imparting the wonderful rum flavors of molasses with dark fruit and light chocolate. Finish is rich, boozy and warm with notes of molasses, rum and rum-soaked dark fruit with supporting maltiness of chocolate and lightly toasted malt. Overall impression of flavor is of an excellent barrel aged quad. It adds a rich depth to an already deep beer and transforms it into a different thing entirely. Fantastic. Mouthfeel is full bodied with a pronounced warming alcohol and light carbonation. Overall impression of mouthfeel is of a very good quad that has an excellent feel. Overall this is an amazing barrel aged quad, one that imparts its base beer, and its barrel wonderfully. It has a deep, rich character imparted that is wonderful.

More interesting than their base quad. Lots of rum and wood character, but also some mould. At Dragoon.
