Pours dark brown black with a little tan head. Smells of dark fruit and some international buttering units, approx 100 according to the can. That’s original FIS territory, pardner. The flavor is Rye, anise, a little coffee, them hops, the aforementioned dark fruit, roasty malt, it keeps reminding me of FIS and even Ten Fidy, I like it. This is a solid, fairly complex stout in my backyard and the boys and girls at Dragoon are representing, cheers!

Appearance: Pours espresso colored with a thin beige cap; dribbles of lacing
Smell: Very roasty with chicory tones; somewhat chalky
Taste: Overly roasty up front, with a chalky chicory character developing; hints of dark fruit and toffee, underneath, with a spicy rye aspect on the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: There are some interesting elements here but they are overwhelmed by the roasted tone
Thanks, highdesertdrinker, for the opportunity
