Pours a handsome dark brown with a luxurious tan head and tiny bubbles, all hail Don Ho. Smells like bourbon, a little alcohol, roasted malts and chocolate. Tastes like bourbon barrel, chocolate, a little cafe' a little roasty with some toffee sweetness on the back end. All I can say is hallelujah praise be! This is an excellent World Class bad ass stout in my backyard that I can go get and drink on tap without having to stand in line or trade for at a brewery with good people that know their beer. I'll be back!

Appearance: Pours espresso colored with a one finger mocha head with pancake bubbles on the surface; good persistence and squiggly lacing
Smell: The roast and Bourbon tones meld together in the aroma with a chocolate and coffee character emerging along with hints of toffee
Taste: Bourbon, chocolate and toffee forward with the roasty spice tones emerging; chicory and a slightly burnt character in the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation
Overall: Two things stand out here - this packs a lot of flavor for an 8.9% ABV stout and, with the lower than usual ABV for the style, there is no booziness; the second thing is how much better this is than the regular version as the barrel aging really cuts down on the overly roasted character of the recipe
Thanks, highdesertdrinker, for the opportunity
