Had this beer at Underbelly in San Diego. It was in theory on nitro, but after the pour it didn't look like the typical nitro beer, carbonation type, and also didn't really have that creamy mouthfeel that I would expect. Perhaps a mislabel?
The combination of a red and coffee seemed to work pretty well. Unlike the more typical stout there wasn't the typically roasted, sometimes lactic, malty backbone holding the beer up and instead the coffee flavors came through very strongly with some sweetness.

On nitro tap at Boneyard Bistro in Sherman Oaks, CA.
Pours a hazy copper with a foamy khaki head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. A foamy curtain of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, brewed coffee, and coffee bean aromas. Taste is much the same with roasted coffee flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a coffee forward presence that takes over any other aspects of this beer.
