#3 of 4 in a flight.
Dark chocolate color with a fine medium brown head and lace.
Smell toasted malt, a lil coffee, and a lil cocoa.
Drinks very thick, smooth, creamy malt with a dry, bitter finish. Full bodied, can taste the alcohol, a filling drink. One drink is enough.

On tap at Haven Gastropub in Pasadena, CA.
Pours an opaque black with a dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. A foamy curtain of lace coats the entire glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, roasted coffee beans, cocoa powder, and some slight smoke aromas. Taste is much the same but there is a high level of roasty bitterness that lingers long after each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a thick and creamy mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good stout with a super nice aroma but the bitterness after each sip is slightly unenjoyable.
