i put back a tallboy of lagunitas ipa for this one and the experience alone was worth it beyond belief. was flat and reddish in the glass and that's about it. smelled surprisingly nice, clamato took over with strong punches from the lime. really wanted to toss in ice and tequila. taste wasn't so hot and very watery but still had a good salty mix of tomato and lime, with that little clam funkiness and a horrid aftertaste for about 2 seconds. was so carbonated it almost hurt. weird thing to drink, probably would have been better off with a taco or a pool.

Pours a non surprising red color with a slightly pink two fingers of head that falls back into the beer.

Smells like a LOT of lime!. Picking up some tomato and clam juice from the Clamato hiding behind the rush forward of lime.

The Clamato and extra Lime help hide the taste of the Bud Light so that is a plus. That rush of lime on the nose does not hit so hard on the palate. Seems like a nice bit of extra lime has been added though. Could use a bit more salt with the addition of the extra lime.

Mouth is fairly light and finishes crisply. Not much of a lingering aftertaste. Carbonation causes burps that do taste like lime.

Not a bad offering from Bud. I could see adding just a few items to doctor this up to a very nice offering. I would reccomend Chelada fans that want a little extra lime try this one out!

24oz can poured into Duvel tulip. Only part way for rating purposes though because this is probably best had straight from the container just like every pre mixed chelada. 18236 stamped on bottom of can. Not sure if that's supposed to be a born on date. If so, then it's born on Aug 24, the 236th day of the year. So that would make about 2.5 months old. So should be fresh still. Picked it up at the grocery store for about $2.60 or something I think.

Appearance - Opaque orange-red body. Very small and very loose white head that dissipates quickly with visible effervescent microbubbles popping, and actually contains small visible red particulates. Very minimal lacing. Pretty standard for the style. 4

Smell - Clamato. You can catch some lime as long as some head still exists. Swirling will revive it just enough. 4

Taste - A hint of lime that can almost be confused for a metallic aftertaste if you're not paying attention. 4

Mouthfeel - Light bodied. Refreshing. Effervescent. Bright. Clean finish. So generally speaking from experience, canned cheladas are best drunk straight from the can because they typically maintain their effervescence's best that way. However, this one doesn't even show it's effervescence until it's poured for whatever reason. Maybe it has to do with the lime. From the can it's thin and watery and lacks body, but when poured into a glass it becomes bright, fizzy and refreshing. So I guess this one is the exception. 4

Overall - Hits the spot for my guilty pleasure. Cheladas are an under appreciated style in the beer geek community. This one is a little thin overall. I'd rather stick to Modelo's picante chelada, but this one will do the trick in a pinch. Keep in mind that while I always rate in style, my bias for this genre may artificially inflate the scores here and someone who doesn't like cheladas will not like this one either. 3.5

Pours a pinkish light color like grapefruit juice. Surprisingly it is missing any trace of a head-- but maybe the color of foam on this stuff would be so off-putting they decided to flatten it out. But somehow it's quite prickly on the tongue ("Extra Lime!")

Sharp with citrus followed by the sweetish taste of the tomato and clam flavoring. Actually it's quite acidic and the mild heat of the chiles makes it a zingy mouthful. Almost a Chile Beer. An interesting beverage that's not entirely un-beer-like. Not bad at all if you have the occasion for it, or maybe it would be the ideal beer can chicken ingredient. From the 25 oz can purchased at Pioneer Market in La Conner, Wash.

Pale red with one finger of light pink head that lasts about one minute.
Smell is mostly chili and lime.
Taste is spicey chili lots of lime. The heat builds slowly but is quite pleasant.
Mouthfeel is medium and well carbonated. Finish mildly dry and sweet peppers.
Overall a fine light chelada.

A: Pours a cloudy medium pinkish orange in color (not dissimilar to pink grapefruit juice) with some light amounts of visible carbonation and faint tomato juice red highlights. The beer has a quarter finger tall fizzy pinkish white head that quickly fades to a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light to moderate aromas of celery salt, tomato juice, something briny (though not distinct), and lime with absolutely no smell of beer.

T: Moderate to strong flavors of watery tomatoes, celery salt, salt/brine, and clam juice... along with with some moderate flavors of artificial lime. Actually the celery salt is a little overwhelming.

M: Light bodied with heavy amounts of carbonation.

O: Another gas station score, finding this one in the back of the cooler with no date on the can that I could find. I think this means I have tried all of the available permutations of the Bud Clamato beverages. Not one I will grab again but not as bad as I remember the others being - maybe I'm just feeling generous in my tolerance of these today.

Trying these NOT craft beer like things is always an adventure.

Now with extra lime.

Poured in a clear plastic cup because I don't want this messing up a good beer glass.

Murky pinkish red with no head formation.

Smells of salt and tomato juice with some sea breeze thrown in. Scent of celery salt and lime. Not actually very aromatic at all.

Starts out salty and tasting of celery salt and tomato juice. Yes I can taste the lime. Pretty much this is a Bloody Mary made with beer. Mild amount of heat, it gets hotter as you drink it. But it doesn't taste bad at all so long as you don't try to actually call it beer.

Mouthfeel is OK, carbonated tomato juice.

Overall it really isn't beer. But as a beverage it is pretty tasty. Frankly Budweiser needs to just make a beer Bloody Mary version of these and call it BLOODY BUDDY.
