Clear deep gold with two fingers of white head that fades rather quickly. Very minor lacing.
Smell is mild bready malt. Taste is lightly sweet bready malts with a touch of bitter hops at the end. Slightly boozy. Mouthfeel is thin with low carbonation. Overall a bit of a letdown. If my calculations are correct this beer is at least seven months old so take that into account.

From BeerAdvocate Magazine #83 (Dec 2013):

The best that we have seen passed through the wringer as of late from AB, but the lack of any real body or even a hint of rawness makes this just another attempt at being “crafty.” That said, it is not half bad. If we had a choice between this and a mediocre “craft beer,” we’d opt for this.

STYLE: India Pale Lager
ABV: 5.5%
AVAILABILITY: Rotating

LOOK: Perfect clarity, pale golden hue, lovely froth

SMELL: Orangey hop, floral, herbal, exotic fruit, grainy, clean

TASTE: Tight crispness, thin bodied, grainy, mild oily hop, wet, clean, flour, dried hay, orange zest, wildflowers, hint of alcohol warmth, drying finish, faded hop aftertaste

Brilliant golden hue with good clarity. Lively carbonation. Some faint pine like hop aroma and some light malt to accompany it. Mouthfeel is light and easy drinking. There is a light to moderate rush of pine like hops and they are quickly gone. The fade is just a bit too rushed for me.

12 oz twist-off bottle poured into a pilsner glass.
5.5% ABV.

A - More pale gold than deep gold as the label suggests, this crystal clear beer pours with a tall white head that leaves rather quickly but forgets fingers of lace on the glass.

S - Honey-glazed citrus rind and notes of pine sure give the beer a hoppier aroma than what might be expected from Budweiser. Graham cracker, grainy pale malt, and a touch of faint spice in the background cap off this lager.

T - The hop complexity stops suddenly at the aroma, contributing little more than faint, thin citrus and a floral suggestion in flavor which hardly makes the plain pale malt flavor exciting.

M - Hops return! This lager's crisp and clean drinkability has a nice level of carbonation which is crisp but not attacking and clean lingering hop bitterness for a slight bite on the finish. A burp reveals that usual Bud flavor, however.

O - When I see a beer described as a "bold lager", I immediately think doppelbock, perhaps the boldest of lagers, so excuse me while I laugh at their statement. This lager might be "bold" for the Bud drinkers only accustomed to their light beer, and doesn't make much sense from a business standpoint either. Should it become a gateway beer for the "light" drinker, they lose customers and I think it's safe to say this isn't making Bud drinkers out of the craft beer crowd. At any rate, their North Pacific Style Lager is a decent beer with little to write home about and little to gripe about when you want something clean and refreshing.

Budweiser North Pacific Style Lager has a medium, slightly off-white head, a clear, bubbly, golden appearance, some noticeable white flecks suspended throughout, and a nice amount of lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, lemony hops, mild, white bread, and sugary malt. Taste is the same, with a subdued hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Budweiser North Pacific Style Lager finishes semi-dry, easy drinking, refreshing, and enjoyable. Overall, this is a good one, and I think it is worth checking out.

Malt & bread profile but still a boring series.

Appearance a deep golden color, with a light head.

Smell - It has a citrusy/hoppy smell to it.

Taste - Like the smell, its hoppy but not that strong.

Mouthfeel - good-bodied beer, with good carbonation.

Overall - Out of the three of project 12 this is my favorite (the other two are a bit too sweet). This beer is basically just a slightly weaker IPL, it won't satisfy someone who loves hops but it won't turn away people new to craft beers.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a mug. Pours a light dark golden straw with a small white head. Smells of nice roasted malt with a nice aged smell and a little spice. Tastes of nice roasted malt with some earthy hops, nice tastes. Beer is light bodied good carbonation, good finish. Overall a very good beer.
