Welcome AFTERGLOW

A beer-cider hybrid glowing with orchard charm
We love beer. Bauman’s loves cider. So naturally, we decided to smash them together and see what happens. Spoiler: it worked. Really, really well.

Meet Afterglow—our collaboration with Bauman’s Cider that’s part beer, part cider, and all kinds of dangerously drinkable. We started with a crisp pilsner malt backbone, added freshly pressed Oregon apple juice from Bauman’s orchard, and kissed it with Mosaic and Willamette hops. The result? A golden 7% hybrid that shimmers in the glass and tastes like sunshine breaking through the trees.

It’s bright. It’s crisp. It’s got that apple snap, a touch of fruity hops, and a finish so refreshing you’ll probably find yourself halfway through your second before you even realize it. We called it Afterglow because it leaves you with that same warm, golden feeling you get at the end of a perfect day—or, you know, after a couple pours of this beauty.
This isn’t your standard cider. And it sure as hell isn’t your standard beer. It’s both, it’s neither, and it might just be your new favorite way to drink your way from late summer into fall.

Available this Friday on tap and in cans at all three Gigantic locations. Grab a pint, snag a four-pack, and keep an eye out for it in the wild—on draft at your favorite Portland bars and in the cooler at better beer shops near you.

I’m not entirely sure how to classify this beer-cider hybrid. I had it on the hand pump at Gigantic’s now-closed Hawthorne location.

The press release said this was 7% but the version I had was listed at 6.7%
Looks incredible with a tight creamy head. True to the description, I get a tart cider note balanced by a light golden ale, the crisp bready pilsner note making me think, oddly enough, of an apple pie minus any seasonings.
