Copper in color with a small amount of head.
Sour berries is on the nose mixed with a leather/tobacco note.
Taste is sour cherry, red wine vinegar, funk, some earth, and some sweetness.
Mouthful is light with medium carbonation. Finish is lightly puckering.
Very easy to drink and nicely balanced.

This seems to have improved in the bottle compared to when I had it on tap months ago. Aromas of tart and funky oak, dripping in cherries. Taste is heavier on Brett and oak, again with a rather deep cherry flavor. This is what I'm talking about, dude.

Draft at the source. Mahogany body with hints of crimson. Aromas of brett, funk, cherry, oak, wine. Sour cherry juice with brett funk, oak, lacto. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate. Soft malt body. Good stuff.

From the source, 2015.
A- Dusty red and brown body out of the lines into a snifter. Light tan head to a finger dying to a small ring leaving several sheets of lace.
S- Funky and fruity. Has some definite lacto and Brett funky fermentation products as well as a huge dose of vinous oak and grapes. Did I mention grapes.
T- Pinot wine grapes with a light sweetness off the top dive into a bouquet of Brett and lacto complexity. A balance of wet medium toast oak, dark vinous grape fruit and stems, obvious red wine, apple (the good kind), barn straw, yeast spice phenols, dirty fruity earthiness, jam berries and a hint of vinaigrette.
MF- Light bodied with a battle between the drying bugs and the sweet grapes finding a balanced medium. Moderate level of carbonation and a light tartness throughout.
I usually find that many brewers get almost trapped trying to use such strong barrels of wine but this just flat out works. Lots of grapes countered by the Brett and what might be a hit of Lacto. Fruity and funky.

Served on tap at the brewpub in a tulip glass. Zero lacing. Smells like a flanders red, taste isn't overly sour or brett, fairly fruity and delicious overall. Highly recommended.

Had from the source. Notably this is my first sour review. Almost a deep cherry appearance. Classic tart smell, definitely getting the pinot noir from the taste. Very smooth and not overly "puckering", great for those who aren't huge sour fans but still excellent.

The best Bluejacket beer ive had yet. Like a duchess de bourgogne lite. Less vinegary and not quite as acidic. A must try if you like sours. Gracefully sour with air and space to let the flavors develop on the palate. Not devastatingly puckering. The brewery was too dark to get a good grasp of how colorful the beer was.

I didn’t realize how lucky I was to get to try this one. Poured a golden tan with a pleasant cap of foam. I get a light funky aroma, with some floral notes. There’s a delicious malt body that gives this some depth, with a floral estery note to it that was just divine. I wish I took better notes on it but honestly the beer itself took all my attention.
